BIO
A native of Philadelphia (b. 1981), Prince attended Germantown High School (1996-2000), where he studied culinary arts and graphic design. At Penn State University (2000-2008), he majored in Integrative Arts, with curriculum in photography, journalism, and psychology. While on the photo-staff of The Daily Collegian (2003-2008), Prince began his photo-career freelancing for the Penn State Athletics Department, the Penn Stater Magazine, Fight on State magazine and other local publications.
In 2006 and 2007, Prince took part in a University sponsored service learning project, where he photographed his first overseas photo-essay, "Ghetto Utility", in Arusha, Tanzania. That same year he was the photo-intern for The Press Of Atlantic City.
Since 2008, inspired by the ideology of civic journalism, Prince has focused exclusively on subsistence enterprise issues, producing photo-essays in China, Italy, and the United States in the interest of building the foundation for The Partnering Firm, a 501(c)4 nonprofit social welfare organization that serves the public interest by stimulating the artistic and entrepreneurial agency of independent workers, worldwide.
Currently based in Philadelphia, Prince is preparing to launch ProActiveKind, a marketplace app, that facilitates social-exchange between: independent workers (Makers); service providers (Vendors); and potential clients (Players), through a cryptographic point system (PAKpoints), generated by user participation.
